મિત્રો, આજે આપણે શીખીશું કે Active and Passive Attacks, Active attack શું છે (What is Active Attack, Active attack, Active attack in Gujarati) અને Passive Attack શું છે (what is Passive attack, Passive Attack, Passive Attack in Gujarati).

આપણે અગાઉ ના Tutorial માં જોયું કે What is CIA એટલે કે (confidentiality, Integrity, Availability) અને હવે આપડે શીખીશું કે What is Active Attack & What is Passive Attack. તો ચાલો મિત્રો આજે આ Tutorial માં Active and Passive Attacks ને ખૂબજ સરળ રીતે સમજીએ.

Active and Passive Attacks

Security Attack મૂખ્યત્વે બે પ્રકાર ના હોય છે જે નીચે મોજબ છે

• Security attack એટ્લે કે unauthorized user એ કોઈ પ્રતિબંધ્ધ આપેલી system અથવા નેટવર્ક માં ચેડાં કરે તો તેને Security attack કહેવાય છે. આ unauthorized user એ intruder(ઇન્ટ્રુડર) હોઇશકે છે.
• આ attack એ insider અથવા outsider કોઈપણ ધ્વારા શક્ય બનીસકે છે.
• Security attacks ને સામાન્ય રીતે બે ભાગ માં વહેચવામાં આવે છે જે નીચે આપેલ છે,

1. Passive attack
2. Active attack

What is Passive Attack – પેસીવ અટેક શું છે?

• Passive attack એ એક એવો attack છે જેમાં એક attacker અનઅધિકૃત(unauthorized) રીતે બે systems ને મોનિટર કરે છે, અને જે messages અથવા information બંને સિસ્ટમો ની વચ્ચે ટ્રાન્સમિટ થઈ છે તેને ફક્ત monitor કરે છે તેમાં કઈ modify નથી કરતાં હોતા.
• Passive attack નો મુખ્ય ઉદેસ્ય સેન્સિટિવ information તથા password ને ચોરી કરવાનો હોય છે.
• તે કોઈ direct attack નથી હોતા પરંતુ સંસ્થા અથવા કંપની નો કોઈ અંદર નો વ્યક્તિ જ હોઇ શકે છે.
• આ attacks ને શોધવા અથવા અટકાવવા ખુબજ મુસકેલ છે, કારણકે તે ડાઇરેક્ટ attack નથી.

Types of Passive Attack – Passive Attack ના પ્રકાર નીચે મુજબ છે

1. The release of message content (Attacker ધ્વારા Message Content ને દેખવું)
2. Traffic Analysis

What is Active Attack – એક્ટિવ અટેક શું છે?

• Active attack એ એક એવો attack છે જેમાં attacker બે systems ની વચ્ચે message ને transmit કરે છે. તથા તે messages ને modify કરે છે. અને તે modify messages ને બે system માથી કોઈ એક વ્યક્તિને મોકલી દેવામાં આવે છે.
• તે વ્યક્તિ ને ખબર પણ નથી પડતી કે આ messages કોઈ attacker મોકલી રહ્યો છે તથા તે modified છે.
• તે ડાઇરેક્ટ attack છે. તેથી આ attacks ને સરળતાથી રોકીશકાય છે. 

Types of Active Attack – Active Attack ના પ્રકાર નીચે મુજબ છે

1. Masquerade (દેખાવ કરવો)
2. Modification of Messages (Message માં Modification કરવા)
3. Repudiation
4. Replay
5. Denial of Service (DoS)
